We imagine a future where clothes circulate in closed loops instead of piling up in landfills. Where communities power themselves with renewable energy, reducing dependence on fossil fuels. Where food economies are regenerative—restoring ecosystems and strengthening local resilience.

This future isn’t a fantasy. Around the world, changemakers are already driving it forward through research, advocacy, collaboration, and innovation. But despite this momentum, we’re not on track to meet our global sustainability goals. Why? Too often, we’re tackling deep-rooted, systemic problems with siloed, surface-level solutions.

To make meaningful progress, and build solutions that deliver benefits to communities, businesses, and nature, we need to target deeper, systemic levers. And to do that, we need to better understand all the components at play in our systems.
